Supported living

Supported living is ordinary housing with extra help built in: staff who support you with things like money, medication, cooking, appointments or just getting back on your feet. Support can be 24 hours or a few visits a week, depending on what you need. Rent and support costs are usually covered by benefits, so having little or no income doesn't stop you.

Who it's for

  • Adults who need day-to-day support (mental health, learning disabilities, autism)
  • Young people leaving care (16–25)
  • People recovering from addiction
  • Anyone a doctor, social worker or support worker says needs housing with support

What you'll need

  • A short needs assessment (we or the provider arrange this — it's a chat, not a test)
  • Usually eligible for Housing Benefit or Universal Credit housing costs
  • You can apply yourself, or a support worker/social worker can refer you
💙 Not sure if you qualify? Apply anyway or message the provider — the worst that happens is we point you somewhere better suited. You won't be charged for anything on Tenvia.
